SWCOLT Awards:

SWCOLT recognizes outstanding world language educators  and supporters of world language education in the Southwest region via the following categories: Friend of the Profession, Honorary Lifetime Member, Excellence in Teaching (Elementary, Secondary, Post-secondary). 

Nominations are now closed for 2026 awards. The nomination forms will open in the summer of 2026 for 2027 SWCOLT awards.

SWCOLT Teacher of the Year Award:

Each year, the nine states in the SWCOLT region submit a state Teacher of the Year candidate for consideration as SWCOLT Teacher of the Year. The 2025 SWCOLT Teacher of the Year was chosen from the eight state candidates below and was named at SWCOLT-AZLA 2025 on January 24. Ngan Ha Ta of Hawaii will represent SWCOLT at the ACTFL conference in November 2025 as a candidate for National Teacher of the Year!
